MACRA Program Requires Robust Communications on Care Delivery

Major changes in the way healthcare providers will receive reimbursements are imminent, and new technologies will be required to help comply with these changes. These new reimbursement methods — often called value-based reimbursements — put an increased emphasis on outcomes and reporting. As a prominent example, starting in 2017, physicians and other clinicians will begin collecting outcome performance measures as part of the requirements for the Quality Payment Programs under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015.

Why is MACRA important?  Because CMS and other payers will use patient information and other data collected under MACRA to regulate and calculate value-based payments, including bundled payments. This will have a direct impact on providers’ bottom lines.

Does your facility have the connectivity and communications capabilities to gather relevant data to meet these new reporting requirements?

In this environment a powerful connectivity platform that enables critical communication among providers and their enterprise-wide referring communities, including radiology imaging centers, clinical laboratories and hospital systems is a must. This type of connectivity platform will provide a set of proven, secure tools that add significant value to the provider/referral relationship and other outside caregivers.

A proven connectivity platform will generate internal communication efficiencies that maximize existing resources and help meet MACRA reporting requirements, while reducing IT expenditures. Proven connectivity solutions, like those offered by DigitalOne, are flexible enough to enable multiple data sharing and reporting options with almost any EMR and can be deployed quickly and easily, without engaging costly vendor resources.
